This is the last week of Treena being with us!!! So a special lament to a valued member of Matt Murphy's and all round great Gal!!!!!! By way of celebration we are having a tribute concert for her produced by The Well this Friday so come down and say your goodbyes...

THURSDAY: Wild Sextet

Head into Murphy's for a free concert with one of the Best Jazz acts in the USA right now. Original tunes inspired by the greats from the Fifties and Sixties. Bedazzling dueling Saxophones from two of the towering talents in Boston, Andy Voelker and Timo Shanko, ridiculous guitar from Steve Fell and sublime rhythm section from Geoff Charland and Luther. Then there is the founder Grayson Farmer on Trumpet, nearing legend status from appearing on Slip albums and original member of The Jazz Farmers with The Duo's Marco Benevento.

FRIDAY: THE WELL

Jimmy Trapella brings his cohorts to the Murphy's stage for another night of high energy positive vibe. Tonight he brings a great band to the Matt Murphy's with a Roots Reggae flavor.

New album in the can, gigs a plenty - you have to catch this band now. A great night is guaranteed.

SATURDAY: Special Ed & the Shortbus

Jug band, Bluegrass, Old-Timey, String Band, Vaudevillian, call it what you will, it's just American music (except when it's Eastern European). The primary objective is to play the
music that they would like to hear, using two banjos, two guitars, a mandolin, a fiddle, a trap set, a doghouse bass, many kazoos, and a whole host of other toys.

Closed at 1am so get here early!

Expect some very good special guests....Mike Keenan, Axel Foley, Trama, Steve D.....

A powerhouse voice and a turn of phrase that lends itself perfectly to the song form, this is music to make you fall in love all over again. Did we say we think they are magnificent?

and Jazz for a hedonistic mix of music that is out there with the best of the post jam sounds of today. Think Jacob Fred/The Duo/The Slip. Public House is cooler and probably better looking.

St Patrick's Day is upon us! In fact not once but twice, officially on the 15th this year for the first
time since 1946...don't ask us about that one. But suffice to say we will be celebrating it all weekend! Come down to join us with a pint, some food and a band at the only place you can do all three to the highest possible standard!!

Excellent African tunes with some American influences creeping in there courtesy of Dave's Daniel Lanois esque guitar treatment. Bouba knows how to get an audience going and what better night to come down than on a Friday at the Friday Social.

Latin and Caribbean rhythms, intricate vocal harmonies, and original songs in Spanish, French, English, Haitian Creole and Portuguese. Based out of New York City, this band is a treat.

B3 Kings and Public House return for the Tuesday night residency after a well earned break when Seamonsters, ably, took the reins...they return to the Monday night blow out for March.

A debut at Matt Murphy's for The Jody Grind, who blend rock, blues, and funk for an original sounding vibe. THE JODY GRIND is fronted by the superb Sara Colb, who might come off as part Stevie Nicks part Sheryl Crow, and in this day and age that is no bad thing.
