Samba Lolo New Year

Samba Lolo at Murphy's New Years Eve.
West African tunes with an uplifting spiritual feel. A bit like "Brother where art thou" if it was set in Mali.
Bouba sings with emotion and intensity to draw the angels from heaven...I am serious you know. There is Mandolin, African percussion, Daniel Lanois inspired Guitars and Bouba's voice on top to entice you in.

C-Money @ Murphy's 12.15

C-Money, fresh off a nationwide tour with Slightly Stoopid, lands at Murphy's for the homecoming gig. After blazing a trail coast to coast he is laying his hat where his home really is. (kudos to Paul Young I loved that song.. ;) ) This summer his debut album was released on Pub Records consisting exclusively of live recordings from gigs at Murphy's. Tonight you get to hear the tunes played in the very roomthey were recorded in the first place. The one we've all been waiting for.....It's what the people have been waiting for. Rumour has it that Lady K will pay a visit and turn the heat up a notch or ten.

Will Knox/Sydney Wayser 12.11 Murphy's Pub

A singer songwriter - Will Knox performed with Sydney Wayser on backing vocals. He has more than a hint of a stripped down Libertines, which betray his roots in West London, with a nod to Nick Drake and Sigur Ros on the way. England's Glory!

Nathan Sabanayagam 12/06

Reggae, soul and old school funk meets Mali!
Dec 8th - Nathan Sabanayagam
Click here for a free mp3.
Bringing the Organ sound to the Friday Social and a wicked funked up approach with some of the killingest musicians this side of the Hudson.
A night of bass, drum and organ driven music with reggae, soul and old school funk dealt with by drummer Nathan Sabanayagam (Chinna Smith, King's Highway) bassist DannyMorris (Calypso Hurricane, Bo Diddley) and organist Matt Jenson (RebelTumbao, ARX). Also featuring Mike Keenan (JBB, MangDub) on guitar, Jared Simms (MiracleOrchestra, Mango Blue) on Saxes and Flute and Alex Beram (JBB, King's Highway) on percussion with Bouba on vocal duties at around the 8 minute mark!
I love the delay on Bouba's vocals near the end. A definite candidate for Live @ eleven vol.2!!!!
A truly great night at Matt Murphy's ...again.
