Madi Diaz - the weekly vibe 47
The Weekly Vibe No 47
This is a great week of music at Matt Murphy's for all and sundry. We have not one but two female acts (YYYEEEEESSSS!!!!), a Samba band, an Afrojazz Dub band, Jazz and Reggae all in
one week. A little bit eclectic, but we know you are capable of it@!
This weeks FREE MP3 is from Madi Diaz' last show at Matt Murphy's. A standout performer and engaging act. Do yourself a favor and head down to this.
Check out The Weekly Vibe podcast, spread the word and get the music far and wide. Download choice tracks from over the last six months (and counting) and read up about the bands too. Go here for The Weekly Vibe.
The Upcoming shows at Matt Murphy's Pub will delight the aural senses.

Wednesday: Ten Tumbao
Ten Tumbao lead us into the Thanksgiving long weekend with a night of Samba filled rhythms and Brazilian vibes to put you in the mood for that quintessentially American holiday of Turkey and hours in front of the t.v. You will need a good stock pile of fun before enduring that torture. So what better time than the night before?

Thursday: Wild Sextet
This is the third annual Matt Murphy's Thanksgiving concert. The perfect excuse to get away from that annoying aunt you only see once a year or that neighbor that drives you crazy. Walk
the dog at 9pm and head into Murphy's for a free concert with one of the Best Jazz acts in the USA right now and the only ticket in town on Thanksgiving night for sure. Original tunes inspired by the greats from the Fifties and Sixties.

FRIDAY: Burning Fence
Craig Akira leads his ensemble of Pressure Cooker musicians with a unique take on all things Dancehall and vintage Reggae. A great performer and enduring legend at Murphy's. Shake off
the Thanksgiving blues and get dancing tonight!

SATURDAY: Audrey Ryan
"Ryan is like Joni Mitchell and Radiohead playing some kind of hybrid jazz music that just doesn't exist anywhere else." - Leo Weekly (Louisville, KY)
Audrey is just back from a seven week sojourn through Europe discovering that busking on the corner is more lucrative than a sold out show at the Paradise....probably.
An eclectic indie singer-songwriter using loops, finger pianos, accordion and other unique instrumentation which blends Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan with contemporaries such as Robert Wyatt, Wilco and Stereolab...

SUNDAY: Rubblebucket Orchestra
Members from John Brown's Body perform an Afro-Dub Trance vibe. I guess you cross Anti Balas with Scratch Perry or something. Lots of Trumpet and melody too I imagine if Alex Toth is in the mix, which he is!

MONDAY: Madi Diaz
Madi Diaz is one of those performers who will endure no matter what. Young gifted and ....everything else. Soulful songs full of hurt, yearning and hope. With a good band and sound akin to anything from Wilco to Pj Harvey on prozac she definitely is an act you must check out now!
TUESDAY: B3 KINGS
Here for the next round of Tuesdays is the ever popular B3 kings on a mission to convert everyone to the Church of B3. Boogaloo meets Reggae with some serious attitude. We are talking Brian Thomas (Akashic, JBB) and Timo Shanko on all out attack mode. Sensational musicianship with an up for it crowd.

REVIVAL TIME
FREE STUDIO RECORDED MP3 OF THE TITLE TRACK FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM..................................................................................................................................................FOR ONE WEEK ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wanted to let you know about the Superpowers release on Pub Records in September.
They are playing Boston's Regattabar before heading out on tour on the East Coast.
They are a ten piece Brooklyn based band playing Afro Beat a la Antibalas and encapsulate the sound of the growing West African scene in america that is becoming more and more popular.
The album was recorded by Ten Foot Ganja Plant man Craig Welsh and is in our humble opinion a funk jazz tour de force with late night seventies tendencies.
Dates.
Regattabar September 7th.

Conspiracy Theory - Bennet Miller Band
The Boston Afrobeat Society branched out to territory unkown this Sunday evening and produced music of quality and distinction. Think Space Oddysey meets a rainy night in Serpico.
And all of this in the same week as the Champions League Semi Final's with three English teams in.....things can only get stranger.
