The Weekly Vibe no.43

The Weekly Vibe No 43

C-Money at the Wonder Bar was a joy to behold, add Lady K from BQEZ and G-Love sitting in and it all added up to a sensational night. We have Jimmy T at the bar on Friday and John Brown's Body side project coming through too on Sunday.

This weeks FREE MP3 is from Tuesday's B3 Kings session. Click away and listen to some amazing stuff.

The Upcoming shows at Matt Murphy's Pub will delight the aural senses.

14 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA.

FRIDAY: The Well

Jimmy Trapella leads his band into the breach! The Friday Social will never be the same again. Complimented by a tight rhythm section and Rex on Keys this is a band choc full of tunes and
energy. Reggae sound with some dark dub funk elements.

SATURDAY: Ten Tumbao

Latin and Caribbean rhythms, intricate vocal harmonies, and original songs in Spanish, French, English, Haitian Creole and Portuguese. Based out of New York City, this band is a treat.

SUNDAY: RubblebucketOrchestra

Members from John Brown's Body perform an Afro-Dub Trance vibe. I guess you cross Anti Balas with Scratch Perry or something. Lots of Trumpet and melody too I imagine if Alex Toth is in the mix, which he is!

MONDAY: Sparrow

Sparrow play a great take on the Beth Orton/Liz Fraser/Portishead/Everything But the Girl genre of cute songwriting and great vocals. Also on the bill are 'Ronald Reagan'-80's cover songs as a saxophone duo. Love the sound of it!

This is part of the new Monday night series "Why do Birds?" A not too subtle reference to an all female singer songwriter night.

TUESDAY: Public House

Geoff Scott returns with mike Rivard and Brian Sayers and Timo Shanko to show everyone why they are at the Pub in the first place. Six years on and going STRONG. Music experimentation,
stretching of the musical mind muscle.Post jam sounds of the nth degree get your pulse racing for the mid week weekend at Murphy's.

Expect a great crowd for what remains the best night in Boston bar none.
Geoff

Thursday: Wild Sextet

Sumptuous melodies and amazing playing on a par with anything you would get in New York or Chicago. Coming up for their Fifth anniversary of playing every Thursday night at Matt Murphy's Pub. Original tunes inspired by the greats from the Fifties and Sixties. Listen and enjoy.
