The Weekly Vibe no.41

Here Comes The Night!

This could be one of the best weekend lineups at Murphy's in quite a long time.

It has a great feel to it what with the holiday on Monday as well. Get out for every night, you can, it's all free! In any city in the world there will not be a line up this good for free anywhere. Guaranteed. So be glad you live in this city!

Toussaint played the Roxy with Soulive and was excellent. Congratulations!

We had the first Murphy's vs Wally's night last Monday and here is the result!

SENSATIONALSTUFF BETWEEN KEN CLARKE/LOIS CATO/TIMO SHANKO.

Superpowers at The Middle East soon as well....stay tuned. This week at Murphy's is hotting up, October is off the hook. Spread the word, and have lots of fun.

The Upcoming shows at Matt Murphy's Pub will delight the aural senses.

14 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA.

FRIDAY:
Burning Fence

Akira leads the Pressure Cooker crew on a slightly scaled down version of the band that has been rocking Boston for the last ten years. Always a party with a Ska tinged horn-tastic vibe.
The perfect band for a kick start to the weekend.

SATURDAY:
Sambalolo

Boubacar has a residency at the Midway Cafe every Monday in JP - sensational stuff. We snagged him for the Saturday slot here and are mighty glad to have him on board. Amazing presence and great band with a sound that swings from mellow beauty to resplendent glory in the turn of a phrase. Songs in French and English, with American and Mali influences.

SUNDAY:
Fully Celebrated Orchestra

The New York Times said it best when describing Jim Hobbes as one of the greatest living American Saxophone players. After more than fifteen years together this band is finally hitting
their stride..Recent shows with The Slip at the Middle East and JFJO at The Paradise are testament not just to their enduring appeal but to the extent they inspire the best.

MONDAY:
Madi Diaz

A welcome return to a Murphy's favorite here. Madi blends classic influences and weaves them into a fresh sounding indie-country mix. Great voice, great songwriter, great look and this girl
will go far. Catch her while you can and say "I saw her at Murphy's on a fricking Monday night!".

This is part of the new Monday night series "Why do Birds?" A not too subtle reference to an all female singer songwriter night.

TUESDAY:
Public House

Geoff Scott returns with mike Rivard and Brian Sayers and Timo Shanko to show everyone why they are at the Pub in the first place. Six years on and going STRONG. Music experimentation,
stretching of the musical mind muscle.

Post jam sounds of the nth degree get your pulse racing for the mid week weekend at Murphy's.

Expect a great crowd for what remains the best night in Boston bar none.
Geoff
