Boston Afrobeat Close out Murphy's Residency with a bang

Boston Afrobeat Society reached for their handkerchiefs for this last night of their year long residency.
There has to be something said for going out on a high note and this is one. Take ten aspiring musicians at the begining of their careers and add a hint of bravado, a ton of talent and at least a modicum of good looks (!)and what do you get? Success on all fronts.
Without doubt one of the major forces to have graced the Murphy's stage and definitely one of the most ambitious projects. What we have here is a Fela Kuti inspired ten piece band playing mostly original afrobeat music on a Sunday night! To say the last year has been nothing short of sensational would be an understatement. The Boston Music awards recognised what it had in place with a Best World Music Act award and the audience was never far behind in their acclaim.
